Blue Hue in all videos – Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10

This is the most stupid bug I have ever seen. And probably in the history of computers!!

After upgrading my Ubuntu 9.04 to 9.10 (Karmic Koala) my videos (all of them, including my webcam) appeared with a blue hue, also with all video players, Totem, VLC, Xine… That means, that the colors were not normal… everything was blue.

After searching a little bit on the web, trying to find some drivers problems, some XOrg configuration or something similar… and after reinstalling all the gstreamer packages… it results that the both problem and solutions are just stupid. Here is the solution for the problem of blue hue layer on the videos..

Open “Movie Player” and in the “Preferences Menu” go to “Display” and at the bottom of the menu there is a bar which name is HUE!!! set the bar value to “Default” and VOILA!!! What a stupid thing!!!

P.S. – obviously I didn’t find the solution by myself. I found it somewhere in the midle of the Ubuntu Comunity Forum.

  1. sim, depois funcionou sem stress..

epa, agora tirando ao painel que às vezes não quer arrancar e tenho de reiniciar o pc (hoje só arrancou à terceira) de resto tudo parece funcionar.
